TOWN OF KEARNY DEPARTMENT DIRECTORY
The Town of Kearny operates under the Council-Manager form of government. As such, the Town Manager and staff is responsible for the day-to-day operation of all Town government functions under policy direction from the Mayor and Town Council. The Mayor and Council, acting as the legislative body, determine Town policy. The Town Manager proposes new policies and implements and administers policy adopted by the Town Council. The Town Manager is also responsible for development and administration of the Town’s operating budget once approved by the Mayor and Council. The Mayor and Council appoint the Town Manager. OFFICE
OF THE TOWN MANAGER The Town Manager is the Chief Executive Officer for the Town, and is ultimately responsible for the general operation of all Town services, programs, and functions. The Town Manager also acts as an Ex-Officio Officer on all Commissions and Boards. OFFICE
OF THE TOWN CLERK The duties of the Town Clerk are to maintain a true and correct record of all business transacted by the Town Council and any other record that pertains to the business of the Town or that the Council directs. The Clerk keeps all public records and public documents as provided by State Statute. The Town Clerk also acts as the Town Treasurer, keeping accurate and complete records of all financial aspects of the Town. Payroll, purchases, and billing fall under the scope of the Town Clerk. The Town Clerk is the Town Election Official and performs those duties required by State Statute for the Election process. FIRE & AMBULANCE
The Town of Kearny operates and maintains its own Volunteer Fire Department and Full-time Ambulance Service The Kearny Volunteer Fire Department uses modern equipment to tackle the multiple operations a rural-area Fire Deparment is presented with. Whether it be structural fires, highway vehicle rescues, or wildfires, the Kearny FD is well-trained and prepared to assist and protect our residents and visitors alike.
Arthur E. Pomery Library is part of the Pinal County Library System. Not only does our local library maintain a wide array of material, in different media forms, but also has Internet Access for Kearny residents. The library also participates in the Pinal County Interlibrary Loan Program, which allows users to borrow books from any public library across Pinal County. The Kearny Magistrate Court presides over all Kearny Code violations, including local traffic tickets, code violations, and arrests made by Kearny Police Department.
The Kearny Police Department is Arizona POST certified, with five full-time officers, and additional reservists. Kearny PD provides 24-hour protection for Kearny residents, as well as Community Outreach throughout the year. Kearny
Ambulance The Town of Kearny Police Department also oversees local Ambulance Services. The Kearny Ambulance is a 24-hour service provided to the Kearny, Hayden, Winkelman, and Dudleyville areas. The service, certified under Arizona Health & Human Services, has four full-time EMTs ready to respond at a moment's notice.
